Hi All
I'm new here an obviously need some advice.
We have had a couple of quotes for new windows, shutters and doors, but having no knowledge of Italian prices could someone advise if we're being overcharged. We've been quoted 6000 euros for 2 windows/shutters and 2 external doors in aluminium and 7300 euro for PVC. Compared to prices in Scotland it seems excessive, but as I said I have no idea about Italian prices. Dimensions are windows L.790 H 1260. Doors are L 940 H 1995 & L 116 H 2060.
Any advice would be appreciated.

seems about right to me I find the prices for windows etc., much more expensive in Italy than in the uk. best to get another quote as a comparison.

Depends where you are- and if are they 'taglia termica', double glazed and with UV glass. There are a million combinations. If they are all this, its about right.

Windows and doors are expensive here.
I paid 650 euro for a rather normal sized kitchen window plus 100 for a plastic roller shutter plus 100 for a new pvc box that the shutter/blind rolls up into.
The cheapest, ugliest, internal door from kitchen to utility room was about 200 euro and didn't include varnish, stain or gloss. Damned if I was paying that so I kept the old metal and glass thing and hung a curtain over it.

Thanks for all the swift replies. It looks like I'll just have to have the work done a bit at a time.
Thanks again

We will need to look at a window and 2 doors soon and I know they are going to be expensive so I keep putting it off

Maybe we should all get together, work out what we need and then get a UK firm over to do the lot

i have those ugly golden coloured shutters and windows in my apartment that need replacing and because of the expense keep putting it off. I wondered if it would be possible to use a metal paint on them any advice?

Try this company - they provided me with a couple of prices and seemed quite reasonable to most. I haven't used them yet but may do might do when my bank balance allows it!!!
I think they are way down south but offer a nationwide service.

If you live in a condominio with administrator you might not be able to change the colour. They might all have to be the same to look unified from the outside.
