Covid vaccine rollout?
Does anyone know anything regarding the vaccine in Italy please? We are both considered elderly (66 & 69) and recently tested negative.
Thank you

Nothing doing in Umbria yet for over 70s.
They are still dealing with over 80s. Here ASL call you.

The first 7 million doses are for health workers and over 80's, then over 60's - with shortfalls I guess March/April.

Italy will start offering Covid-19 jabs to teachers, police officers, prison staff and everyone over 55 as a third vaccine arrives in Italy this month.

Re: Covid vaccine rollout?
The over 60s can only receive the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines as Italy has only registered the Astrazenica vaccine for people aged under 55. They are apparently going to receive 20 million doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines during the 2nd quarter of this year. There are 13.7 million people who must be vaccinated (with 2 doses?) before people aged between 60 and 69 in good health so perhaps one should be more pessimistic and give a maximum date of July-August. The Sole24Ore newspaper gives a really excellent review of the vaccination program with all the data.

Umbria are now nearly making appointments for over 80s. They have created a web site where you request an appointment. You give your phone number and codice fiscale and they sms back an appointment.
