If it's a contract, behopes it's not still as bad getting out of it! Italy when we were last there was going the way of the UK i.e. you really have to move around to get the "new customer" deal. They know most people simply won't move, so hike their rates/charges. Hopefully some on here will tell you exactly what they pay per month. Iliad were the best deal when we were there. Now here in the UK 3 years on we pay £6/mth with Giffgaff and I still can't believe how cheap it is and totally without hassle for us. Granted it does not come with unlimited data (paltry token 1gb), but it suits us totally as we are happy to simply not have much web access on the move. If it's simply for basic access such as having an Italian mobile number, it might be worth looking at a virtual sim, but I suspect not else you will be PAYG? Would be good if someone here knows of a good compare site for you.

I moved from Wind to Illiad 3 years ago, best thing I have ever did, no price increase at all.. Took up the 5.99€ per month offer 30GB unlimited minutes and sms. Also free calls to UK landline numbers. They have an offer on for 150GB unlimited minutes/sms for .9.99€ (+ 9.99 for sim). They also have a fibre box for 15.99 per month but not sure how good that is

Iliad works for me though I am only a light user: also ex-Wind. My wife was with TIM and got so fed up with being bombarded with marketing "upgrade" offers and in protest at TIM's annoying TV adverts that she also switched to Iliad. However she has since switched back to TIM (albeit cheaper than the original deal) because Iliad will not automatically debit your bank account when you run out of credit over and above the €7.99pm. After the second time of having to top up "manually" she switched back. I, as a light user, wouldn't run short as often - especially as I now bung in €30 at a time which is good for at least 6 months. Coverage around us is fine.

Had my kid on a Wind student tariff that kept going up in price, leaving him in debit and thoroughly annoying me. Switched him to Illiad when home schooling lockdown started and he's chuffed with it. Even in the hills around us the coverage is good and he's never run out of gigas. Most of his pals are all with Illiad too as the ones without home wifi still have enough gigas to cover online schooling, Youtube and Netflix etc.

Thanks everyone
I must admit I feel a little stupid as we have home wifi so I am paying for some thing I hardly use. I have just checked my usage three weeks into the month and its one third of a gigabyte. I shall be moving to Iliad or Very.
Thanks again

I have home wifi which is why I thought my kid's Wind student tariff was enough ........ until they kept putting prices up and then home schooling started. My home wifi burnt out - not my fault but outside cables or something and my son's bloody teacher wanted a daily update because she didn't believe me. She thought I was molly coddling my son at home with no wifi and giving him an excuse not to be in school DAD. Thank goodness I had SMS messages from TIM that I could forward to the teacher. Messages that said things like ------- the problem is bigger than expected and if we have to come into your house it will be with masks and gloves and all sorts. For a whole week TIM messaged me and for a whole week I forwarded everything to Bitch Teacher until she said ......... si si si Signora, ho capito! You no longer have a phone line or wifi at home.

Iliad uses the Windtre network, that was another reason I went with Iliad as the wind network is the only one that works where we live
