Ciao tutti,

Just got Brando one of these certificates, who's now 1 year old. Should be good for travelling to the UK they told me at the Comune. Anyone have any experience of using one for travel? Any problems?

Never had a problem but quite a few years have passed. Think Lorna said her kid use them, sure she'll tell you when she gets back from relaxing at the spa.

Yep Duffer - both my kids have these cards and have been to the UK on them loads of times - with different flight companies too.

The only time anybody ever looked as if they didn't know what it was, was when a clod at check-in in Venice kept looking it up and down and inside.

I was travelling on my own with the kids that time so I just said,

"if you're looking for the bit that says this child can travel with me alone and without the father - it's on the back of the card".

The silly bugger hadn't thought to look at the back of the card.

I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem here - I was more concerned about Brando not getting entry to the UK - I can just imagine him having to travel back to Italy on his own not being able to speak yet!

Never ever had any problem with the British when we land.

I hand over my British passport and the kids' two Italian cards.

If Max is with us he hands over his Italian Identity card. He doesn't bother using his Italian passport for a trip to England.

Are you gonna all land with face maks on because of the swine flu?
I noticed that even the Italian news channels have been talking about the flu in England.
