It seems France will be requiring every driver to carry a breathalyser - anyone know where to get cheap disposable ones?

Do you mean for alcohol? If so, most of the supermarkets and chemists around here sell them for around 10-20 Euro. But if you're not in Italy, then you can find a good selection on Amazon.co.uk.

Does anybody else find this new french law ridiculous?

Well if you've had a drink and get into your car, there is no excuse for not taking the breathtest. If you're over the limit and still decide to drive, then you have no excuses if you were then later involved in an accident. They'll then ask you if you took the breathtest, either way, it wouldn't look good.

Yes, but what if you never drink? Why should you carry a Breathalyzer?

In case I spiked your drink?
I think, as the French are non-discriminatory (
), they make everyone carry one. Even the moslems!

Angeldimana - because it's the law! It doesn't matter if you drink, how much or when you drink, if you don't have one in the vehicle you will be fined - qed.
