If you are a driver, expect people not to turn up, change their plans at the 11th hour etc

Passengers are not accountable on this site, you can be sat waiting on someone at dover port (Speaking from experience) guy saying he is on the way, on a train 1mile from port, Add him to the ferry booking, says train is delayed so he is going with another person etc.. pain in the ass

Fine if you are a traveller, if you do not need the few euros you might get for driving, i would not do it, i would also say if you NEED to get somewhere do not use it, i would not trust anyone on this site to get me to an airport for example.

I had about 20 responses that i replied to on this one trip, London to Paris..
NONE of those 20 that had emailed me and txtd came with me

I ended up going with one guy who contacted me 11th hour, he was in dover and i picked him up 5mins after he replied and we went to Paris no problems, he lived south side of paris so navigated which was useful.. but the site wasted a huge amount of time and I personally will never use it again except to offer local journeys

The site is designed to present all things positive, had numerous bad experiences and some good.

Okay .... I get the negative but, if you're the driver, wouldn't you be going that way anyway at that cost? The only point of bla bla car is to get a passenger and cut your expenses. If you have no passengers, you're still going ahead with your trip and paying for it?

I have used this several times when I am travelling in my van from the uk to Italy or back, which I do at least every month. I am not worried about the fee usually I charge 50 euro for me but it is company and I have met some really interesting people, only had one no show so one in ten not bad
There are more than backpackers too I have had people who can't fly and one lady who has sight problems and I took her door to door I think it is an excellent site

numerous emails from many
can you be here at x time, etc etc
and so on x loads of enquiries

NONE of the 100 or so messages that were batted around resulted in any of these people actually turning up when they said! NONE

The point i was making is, if you are doing a popular route, LONDON TO PARIS, you will spend a LOT of time communicating if you reply to all and it simply becomes a massive waste of the drivers time. I would not post on it again, the travellers, can say i will see you at x.. you go there, wait wait and get a text OR NOT, they have no accountability.

As i say i have had some good experiences, but would not post on it again, just not worth the time and effort, even if the French guy did navigate through Paris and show me the French version of McDonalds (NO joke)

I would probably advertise catania to palermo or similar but nothing more dramatic than that and i would NOT BE FLEXIBLE, that was a mistake and my own fault i guess, as every one asks can you do this and that.

Very useful for many for sure, just useful to have the other side too.
