Any lockdown relaxation in your area ?

No relaxation here in the red zone of Castiglione M R sadly. I'm desperate to get to Montesilvano for good Brie, Lurpak butter and soba noodles !

What is the feeling in Italy about the tourist summer season, do you reckon Italy will be closed for business this summer?

In Greece they are talking about the season kicking on the 1st July - not a cat in hells chance I reckon. Many here in the UK have written off any holidays for this year! We certainly won't be looking before May21 unless a vaccine comes along before that.

Hi philat, Yes still confined 🙄 and no we haven't all been tested and as far as I know it's only the members of the council who have been and anyone admitted to hospital with symptoms.

Really! I shall check. This morning's announcement from our comune said no change. It's all very confusing but thanks for that. I need to get to our garden centre for bedding plants as well as Iper Simply.

Just checked and yes we are longer a red zone BUT we still can't travel out of our very small municipality. Can you travel out of yours?

We are allowed to do our shopping in the next comune because the shops in the village are very limited. After next weekend we can travel within the region.

This might or might not be eased after 3 May, but I wouldn't bank on it by any means ...

At a national level nobody is permitted to leave their comune for any except a few prescribed reasons. Which, by the way, would not include either bedding plants nor visits to IperSimply (isn't yours a Conad yet?) assuming you have food shops in your Comune.

I stop at the garden shop on the way back from the supermarket.

Look at the government's site for iorestoacasa, FAQ section where it says clearly:
Now how impressed do you think the Carabinieri would be with your mayor's Facebook postings?

The trouble with this sort of thing is that unless your mayor (or the Region) has made a statutory decree to that effect - which would likely be immediately quashed at a higher level - the law stilll prevails.

I prefer to shop in the Ipermarket in the next comune because it is spacious, very clean and the number of people entering is carefully controlled. Umbria has controlled the pandemic well and will hopefully lift some restrictions in May.
A lot of these rules dont make much sense. I read that in Fase2 we will be able to move only within the region. But where I live I can walk my dog into Lazio.

I suspect that what you say is correct.

The problem with laws is that they are arbitrary (remeber the saying "the law is an ass") - so what makes sense in the centre of Rome may well not in a small country town; what makes sense in the small town may not make sense for a house in the middle of the countryside etc. But in that respect we all have to take the rough with the smooth.
And just forget what you have read (incluing anything I might say ) about what will happen in the next phase. The simple truth is that NOBODY (government included) knows what's going to happen in 8 days' time. Yes, the government have got plans, but they are confidential and will probably be modified by events over the next week. In general the Regions are very, very reluctant to be more liberal on restrictions than central government (because any downsides would be immediately at their door) - and central government would be very likely to abrogate any liberties they were not comfortable with.

We risk the 7 mile drive to IperCoop once a week.We leave at 12.30 and find all the plod are probably scoffing their pasta, hopefully. They are certainly not on the road.Knowing our luck we'd be nicked on the last week of lockdown, lol.
