you should read what they write on the Middle East forum about Doha... :-)
to be honest, I think that many of the BEs in the forum love Italy and would like that the country could be better. Italy has many potentialities and many things that happen there (I am in Doha now) are a real shame. Nobody can deny it. this is the impression I got, as an Italian. I wrote, in a PM to a member, that we Italians don't appreciate when someone else express bad opinions about Italy, even if they are right, because it is as if someone would say something bad about our mother. We know the defects of our mother, but we don't like that others remind them to us. Right? :-) Said that, I don't know if our canadian friend is following the forum anymore, maybe we scared her! :-) I suggest to go back to the suggestions about Sicily. I too would start from elsewhere for the first time in Italy...and take a trip around all the country. ciao, Primula A lot of non-eu come on here think in king that they can just move here. ' Under The Tuscan Sun has a lot to answer for. The OP said she was a Canadian resident, but made no mention of here citizenship. |

Yes! Primularossa. We love the place to various degrees, but we can see where it could be better! I've always said that it's like the mother who listens to their 5yr old playinging a violin. The mother thinks he is a child prodigy and can't understand why other people fail to see it!

I never thought mine were child prodigies when they were learning to play the recorder  in fact I once banished Chloe to the garden and closed the windows. Agree with the love/hate sentiments we have for the place. |
