Things to do in Bali
We're going to Bali at the end of the month and would appreciate any tips from "locals" on things to do and places to go. We'll be in Candidasa for the first two weeks and then Jimbaran for another 2. Thanks people.

IIRC there are lots of seafood restaurants directly on the beach at Jimbaran. Vary in quality, mind.
We usually hire a car and drive up north through Ubud, where we stop for a couple of hours for a look around and some food.
There are lots of terraced padi fields to see on that trip which make great photos.
Some good pasar Malams, night markets, around, but you'll have to ask in tourist offices to find them.
Hotels usually do gamelan and dance nights if you like that sort of music which is pretty hypnotic.
If you can, and if you like, then mix and chat to the locals which we always enjoy much more than the ex pat bars.
Locals can be very friendly if you make the effort.
Oh, one thing there are usually lots of religious flower type parcels, forget what they are actually called, outside shops and businesses, it is best not to step on them.
Mind you we haven't been to Bali for quite a few years now.
Not since two years after the Bali bomb in which a friend of ours was killed.
Oh and finally on Legian beach at sunset it is possible to see a 'green flash', google it. Not seen it ourselves yet but if you do let us know.
And really finally we had a great two weeks in Santa Lucia ? a few weeks after Maddie disappeared.
The area around in the mountains was great and we liked Tavira and the couple of long lunches we had in Vela 2.
We still get emails from the library where we went to log in to the internet to catch up with emails

Ubud is very atmospheric,a great place to lose yourself in the markets. We stumbled across Padangbai by accident and that's a real hidden gem of a place.
