Over 50 aircraft grounded, pilotscand ground staff not paid I can see why you are concerned.

Both Eitihad and Tata have discussed rescue plans but the founder is refusing to step down blocking any deal.
Our experience of Jet was being charged twice for additional luggage allowance .

Unfortunately quite a few more airlines (& not just Indian) will surely go to the wall in the foreseeable future.

We have had years of good service from Jet.
Goyal will destroy what he has created rather than step down. --Pride--.

Will probably book with British Airways having vowed never to do so after three times long delays leading to missed domestic flights and general poor service.
Will have to decide soon.

We cancelled our May internal Dabolim/ Srinagar flights (after terrorist attack and children's worries), so don't know if we will get the refund (which was reduced to 50%!).
Why Goyal would not step down?? Etihad would have rescued it! Jet has been such a good airline!

Spicejet fine for most of our domestic.

For international, Virgin best but stopped Mumbai route, Air India also debts,

BA is awful!! but timings convenient!!! (Qatar not good timings).

We have to make up our minds in next few daysL

Emirates, Turkish, Qatar and just too long or wrong timing flights for us with domestic to follow and then 3 hour drive.

Yes it is a sad ending (if it is an ending!!) ----Etihad would have taken over but Goyal would not step down.
One point is that Jet has its own terminal at Mumbai international airport which is/was very convenient for those travelling on with a domestic flight---I wonder what will happen about that.

The same with Kingfisher airline. From customers point of view very good service. However greed of Vijay Mallya, (India's Philip Green!!) finished it. Still appealing over his extradition.

Yes, it is a pity, particularly as there is clearly a business there - that could prosper given the right management (where have we heard that before!). Not good for Indian aviation generally.

Might have helped (a little) if Air India had been allowed to die a natural?
