Default the year 2002

Copied this off the wellington news group.....Thanks TopcatNZ

You know you're living in the year 2002 when ...

Your reason for not staying in touch with family is
because they do not have e-mail addresses.

You have a list of eight phone numbers to reach your
family of three.

You have made up 17 user names and 15 passwords and
can't get into any of your Websites because you
don't remember which ones you used where.

Your grandmother asks you to send her a JPEG file of
your kids so she can create a screen saver.

You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell
phone to see if anyone is home.

You pay for a newspaper to be delivered to the
house, but you read it online.

Using real money, instead of credit or debit cards,
to make a purchase would be a hassle and would take
planning.

You haven't actually been inside a bank or seen your
paycheck in years.

You think spending $21.95 a month for a connection
to pay bills online is a better deal than spending
37 cents to mail each of them.

You just tried to enter your password on the
microwave.

When asked your address, you automatically give your
e-mail address.

You pay for cable TV to keep everyone else busy and
off the computer so you can use it.

Your idea of being organized is multiple-colored
post-it notes stuck on the computer screen.

You hear most of your jokes via e-mail instead of in
person.

You get an extra phone line so you can actually get
phone calls.

You get up in the morning and go online before
getting dressed, and run to make coffee while
waiting for a website to load.

You awaken at 2 AM to go to the bathroom and stop
to check your e-mail on your way back to bed.

You start tilting your head sideways to smile. :-)

You spend hours surfing for new animated smiley
faces to add to your posts.

You've made more new friends in the past couple
months than in the past 20 years, and you have never
seen any of them in person.

You really start to miss people you've never seen.

You can multi-task: eat dinner, talk on the phone,
yell at the kids, feed the dog ... all while typing
with one hand.

You get in an elevator and double-click the button
for the floor you want ... or you press it once and
look for the "enter" key.

You start to talk in computer shorthand: BTW,
IMHO, GMTA, LOL, ...

You can't sleep from thinking of a response to the
response from the jerk who responded to your
response.

You're reading this!

Even worse, you're going to cut, paste, and forward
it to someone else.
Oh, yes, you will.
You know you will !!!!!

Oh my god, I can see myself in that message - off to the shrink!!!

They did cover technology addiction on click online - BBC World programme.
The presenter 'tried' to live a week without her PC and really exhibited
symptoms of addiction - cold turkey at not being able to check her e-mail!!

Thumbs up Re: the year 2002

Yep- i was just thinking 'must cut and paste it' and sadly can relate to most of that- especially having the millions of passwords which i can never remember!!
Cheers- that was great!
