Writing my own references ????

Writing my own references ????
I have been waiting for a reference from a client for ages, who i know is very busy. Could I write the reference and get the client to fill in thier details, sign and date them, print them out onto their letter headed paper and post them back? - they are willing to do this and I can think of lots of positive things to say about myself!!!! Is this a good idea? I have already told them what they need to write.
Cheers

i did this for mine. As long as you put their contact details on letterhead paper (phone number etc) i don't think there will be a problem.
Good luck

Yes you can do this, it would certain make things quicker as this would help the person writing the reference and it will say exactly the things you need it to say.

We did this too.......it is a plus because you can ensure everything is correct on the reference and all they have to do is print it out on their company letterhead paper, sign and date it (and post it back to you).

When do the CO 's contact your employer and how? , The company i worked for burnt down in a terrible fire and has now closed down because of it. I now have a new job but its only partime. Im worried hat when they try to contact my old employer they wont be able to get through. Also i read that they some times turn up at your work place, if they do that they are'nt going to find much apart from a pile of black ash !

LOL.....yes I also typed up the references myself....then emailed them on to the companies
Our Case Officer didn't contact any of my hubby's employers either
We wrote hubby's job description in bullet points...as there was quite a few.
Must have done a good job with writing the references as we didn't get payslips or P60 requested later on

Did your references look like they had been written by the same person, or does it not matter as long as they have been signed?
