Writ of Mandamus
To the lawyers in here....
Does Australia have a similar action like the following in the U.S?
What is a Writ of Mandamus?
It compels the government to perform a duty
owed to you. If you submitted an application for an immigration benefit, if
it is beyond the normal processing time, if you have made written inquiries
about your application, and the government has not responded, requesting a
Writ of Mandamus will get their attention.
competent immigration attorneys in the U.S have succeeded in getting action with filing a writ of mandamus for their clients who have been disadvantged with long processing times and falling prey to new laws ( in OZ case, an increase of points, Modl changes, etc)
does it exist down under???
