Hi , im a painter and decorator which is on the modl list , so far i have gained my AQF111 , passed the TRA and lodged online 175 in September 08, i have a one way ticket which i booked in December for the may 22nd. When the CSL list and new proccessing priorites were introduced i decided to apply for WA state sponsership , this was on 25/1/09 and im still waiting for a reply !!!!! My meds and police check are done and im from UK which is a low risk country so i should be decision ready when i finally get a case officer !

I would really like to get this sorted by May as my girlfriend is starting a 3 year course at Perth uni in July ( she is on a student visa and independent from my application as we dont live together in UK etc , however i realise this may not be possible now .... so i was wondering where i stood on going out there on a tourist visa for 6 months (surly it will be sorted by December ???)

I have already had a working holiday visa so that is not an option

Any advice would be great
