Hello all,

My first post so please be easy on me!

First of all I would like to thank everyone from here for dedicating their time helping others! I have spent couple of days reading on this forum and I am amazed by the amount of information you people offer... well done!

I have a question to ask. During my university years I've worked Part Time for a company as an IT assistant for 12 months and another 3 months during a summer holiday doing Software engineering. Will this pre-graduation experience be counted towards my IT work requirements?

I believe only full time work experience is counted, so I would recommend you assume no.

I do have 4 years FT post-university experience, but I was hoping on claiming for 5 yrs in couple of months time to get the extra 5 points...

I have a similar question - my post-graduate work experience is short of the 5 year threshold by 6 days. I have done a total of 19 weeks summer experience, too.

This depends on how stringent they are. They have specified 60 months in the 189/190 booklet, so I am afraid you have to prepare for not being able to claim for 5 years. The same would go for me.

Hi Lindsey,

As far as I know for 1 year PT you can receive 6 months recognised work experience from ACS. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
