woo-hoo...bring on the dancing girls!!
Just been informed by my agent that my PR (Skilled Independent) is approved.
My timeline:
Applied June 2002
Meds & PCC requested April 2003
Visa Granted Sept 2003
First entry to be made by April 2004.
The missus has an additional clause that she cannot enter before yours truly. On special request, DIMIA has been kind enough to add another clause that she should dispense back-massages and foot-rubs to the main applicant daily as long as she stays in AU.
This forum is great, knowing that so many others like me are waiting gave me the patience to hold on. It's been maddening since the Meds were done - checking the mail, waiting for the postie or a long-distance call.
To all those still waiting, just hold in there, it will happen.
The longer the wait, the better the celebrations
Oh well, I'm off to tell my boss what I really think about him & what he can do with this job now....
toodle-oo
p.s. just kidding about the special request, but how I wish.......

Hi Dex,
Congratulations!!!
Atlast you too got it, was on the look out for this post from you as had noticed from our earlier mails that the medicals and pcs went in around the same time.
Hope you have a wonderful celebration, and do let us know your boss's reaction (wish I could do the same too right away , but we have just decided to validate right now and enjoy a holiday which we rightly deserve after the looong wait)
Cheers!!!

Just got our passports back with the brand new stickers!!
Bit of an anti-climax this. Waiting for over a year and just one little sticker to show for it! Dont you think they should give us a bright orange T-shirt that says " So Long, Suckers. I'm off! " or a big stuffed kangaroo or something?
