Would an Australian Declaratory Visa be of any use to the OP?

Surely the OP could become an Australian Citizen and continue to travel to and from Zimbabwe with an ADV in his Zimbabwean passport?

Problem is that if he's no longer a Zimbabwe citizen then his passport is invalid and he should not use it. Zimbabwe gets upset if former citizens try to pass themselves off as Zimbabwean.

If he just wants to visit Zimbabwe, nothing on the DFAT website suggests he would be refused admission (as tourist) if using an Australian passport.

Also, the ADV is not normally given to adult Australian citizens unless there is a good reason.
