Hi all,
I am new to this board, so please accept my apologies if this has been asked before!
My partner and I are considering moving to Australia and I am unsure as to what visa (if any) we qualify for, and what would be the easiest option??
I am 29 y/old British and have been working in the UK as a Recruitment Consultant for the past 3 years, I would like to carry on with this profession in Oz. Do I have enough experience to qualify for sponsorship? I don't have a University degree and i am reading conflicting information regarding experience, some say 3 years others 5 years.
My partner (not married, been together for 4 1/2 years) is from the Czech Republic, although has lived in the UK for the past 5 years. She is degree educated and works within Finance (2 years UK experience, AAT Certified). Would she qualify for any visa's?
Any help would be appreciated. I guess one option maybe for me to initialy go on a Working Holiday Visa and my partner to obtain a study visa? But this would only allow us to be in the country for 12 months!!
Many thanks,
Confused!

Best place to start is www.immi.gov.au The Skilled occupations list is here: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/1121i.pdf
Take a look and see if your occupation is on there, if it is then it tells you who assesses your skill. You should then be able to find information on their site.
You should also familiarise youself with the up-coming changes due for September as they may affect your application. You'll find some info here: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=440240
I'd suggest you speak with a registered migration agent, who will be able to give you specific advice, usually via a free initial consultation then you can decide whether to employ them or not.

Thanks for your help Wendy. Can you recommend a good immigration agent?

There's quite a few about on here, if you do a search for 'agents' on the forum you'll get loads of threads and some good discussions on who's good and who isn't.
Main thing to consider is where there expertise lies, some are really good with TRA (trades people) applications and others are really good with ACS (computer specialists) applications, so ask the question how many people with my occupation have you successfully got a visa for.
Good luck with it all
