1. If you leave your family out of the application they need to do
medical and police checks anyway. The second instalment of the visa
application charge would not be payable in that case.

2. The second instalment of the visa application charge is for
English language lessons which your wife may well need..

3. If you leave them out now, you will have to sponsor for PR later
on. More fees, application forms , further medicals/police checks,
and more delays. Spouse visas can take many months to process.

4. Although there is no second instalment of the visa application
charge for spouse visas (not yet, anyway), if your wife can't speak
English she's going to have to learn somehow isn't she? So you will
need to pay for this either way.

A critical success factor for migration, both in terms of the
individual and the Australian community generally, hinges on the
willingness of migrants to adopt Australian norms. It's generally the
Australian way to bring your family with you to Australia, not leave
them overseas. It's essential for *all* those included in a migration
application to be committed to learning English if necessary.

Default wife and childrens visa for Class 136.

Hi,

Iam planning to logde my application for class 136. Iam married and have 2 kids aged 2 years and 6 months.
I have planned to first migrate to Oz, find a good job, decent house and then call my wife and children once settled.

"Can I apply for my Wife and childrens visa once I get the visa and Iam in Oz."will there be any problem and much time it might take if I apply from Oz.

For question 16 in form 47SK Will your spouse be migrating with you(attach a note whether your spouse intends to join you later).

What should I write for this one.

Please help me in this regard.

Hi Tommy,

We would strongly advise including your wife and children in the
application; if you apply for them later you'll be put to unnecessary delay
and further expense. Once you have all visited Australia during the initial
validation period you'll have the rest of the 5 years validity of the visas
to make up your collective mind.

Cheers

Whether your family (wife and children) migrate with you or not, they will all still be required to undergo medical examinations.

Will there be any problem if you leave them out of your visa application now and apply for their visas later on? It'll depend on a host of factors, such as whether they have a criminal record, or a medical condition, or whether your marriage is still in effect, etc between the time your visa is granted till the time you intend to put in their visa application.

If you choose to leave your family out of the initial migration application, you will have to tell DIMIA why you're planning to do so, as specified in Form 47SK. This newsgroup/forum cannot provide you with the creative juice required to pen your reasons down on :-)

Good luck.

Thanks Peter,

If I leave my family out of the application , do i have to pay the second installment of English tuition now or is it when I apply for their visa.

And Is there any fees for applying for the dependents visa after getting the PR.
