Default Where to stay in Adelaide

Hi Guys,

I have one request from the group who have migrated to Australia, to Adelaide to be
exact. We just got our visas activated and are looking for a good area to live is
Adelaide. I know of a few good schools in Adelaide for the kids. I would like some
advice from anyone who have settled in Adelaide.

Moving to ADL in dec 02.

Thanks for the help....

You may try taking a look at mawson Lakes. Seems a trifle pricey but having had a look around if you are happy to live on a kind of housing estate (not really comparable with UK estates though) with plenty of amenities, schools, golf course etc and obviously built around the lakes it looks ideal. We have been giving this matter a bit of thought and for our 3 kids it looks ideal. Pretty handy for the city centre but far enough out to give ready access to the suburbs and the hills.

Ed - What was your reason for choosing Adelaide (or presumably one of the 'burbs).

We are waiting to hear from police checks and medicals submitted back to Adelaide
(fingers crossed) and hope to move there too but I'm just interested to see anothers
reason for this location as so many others seem to choose NSW or WA.

Cheers,

MAX

Hi Ed

One of the best ways to decide is to rent and do your own homework.

I moved here to Adelaide two years ago and I'm very partial to the south of the city.
We live in the Onkaparinga Hills, there are some very affordable suburbs around here.
Now the Southern Expressway is open, travelling into the city is a breeze. There are
many good schools around this area.

Good luck with your move, enjoy it!

Cheers

Russell

We are also moving to Adelaide. We chose Adelaide rather than NSW or VIC. It was much cleaner, not so built up, picturesqe and the people seemed freindly. Much nicer for the kids to grow up.

Hi Max,

Well the wife has relatives in Adelaide and we thought that going to Adelaide would
be a good idea, as we could get some moral support should the times get a bit tough.
We did hear that it would be easy to get in if applied to adelaide. Mostly I've been
to Australia many times and find I like Adelaide the best.

Thanks for the post

ED

Hi Russell,

Where is this place Onkaparinga Hills? I know the black wood and Belair areas. Is it
near this places. It sounds like a very nice place. I will go see the area on my next
trip to Adelaide. Please give me more information about this place.

Thanks

Hi Yvonne,

Thanks for your reply. I have heard a lot about Aberfoyl Park. In fact we did see a
few homes in the area sometime back. Could you please give me more information about
Chandlers Hill and Happy Valley. I would look it up on the next trip.

Thanks

Hi Ed

www.mawsonlakes.com.au

I don't know whether it would suit everybody's tastes particularly Brit's who are looking to move for the space and/or rural living etc. Although the place looks fantastic and it is like pretty much nothing you can find in this country it is a purpose built housing development. There is a uni campus next door, golf course, bbq areas and places for the kids to play, mooring for your 100 foot yacht, cafe and lots more......please call for a leaflet or pop in and see us we are only 10 minutes fr....sorry got carried away.

We gave them our address and email details when we were last there and we get regular invites to coffee mornings and new' release viewings. Its OK but we live in Derbyshire.

It is 10 - 15 mins south of Belair.

I'll post some more info when I have time. I am very busy picking the olives from our
grove at the moment!

Cheers

Russell

Thanks Mark, Saw the website, Very nice place. But tell me one thing. I was told
that the north is not a very save place, due to the crime rate. Please give me
some advice.

Thanks.
