Michael,

As Robert said, it depends what you're after regarding work etc.

But to answer your question regarding "boomtown"? Or "boom-area?"
South-east Queensland - that is, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast -
no question.

Kind regards,
John

We, my wife and I, are at first of all looking for work and "good"
house-prices. And the wether should'nt be to cold ;-)

Kind regards,
Michi

I live on the Gold Coast and it is the fastest growing area in Australia,
but the main employment is tourism (theme parks etc etc beach atmosphere)
and the building industry which is thriving. Good house prices well its
relative isn't it $200 - 220K will buy you a new 4 bed, ensuite, dble
garage, family room etc.....good value if you can find work......

We were out along the Sunshine and Gold Coast last month and we loved it. We couldn't believe how many new housing developments are being set up. There were some lovely ones just South of Brisane - 30 min drive. Very reasonable prices as well.
It is also reasonably populated so you actually feel like there are a few amenities around you !!

Good luck

Tina
