Default What is success rate of applications for SIR sponsorship?

How generous are the states Victoria and SA in nominating for SIR visa?
Would they the sponsor each and every application they receive whatever
may be the occupation (exception IT ) or are there any rejections?

I am contemplating for skills assessment for occupations Marketing
Specialist, Sales Representative (information and communication
products) which are done by Vetassess.

What are my chances of being nominated for SIR for either of these
occupations by Victoria and SA?

Can anyone please throw some light? Thanks.

Dear Roja,

The idea behind SIR, as far as SA is concerned, is to stop the state depopulating, so rest assured that just about every non-IT occupation will be accepted. For Victoria it's more of a lottery, you'd be best advised to research the opportunities and show them the possible vacancies/business opportunities when you apply. It's important to bear in mind that apart from Geelong, the Victorian regions are all based on rural industries. If you've never been to Beechworth, Wodonga, Ballarat, Bendigo, Shepparton or Portland then take my word for it that beautiful though they all are in their own way, they're country towns. Largest SIR-able places in Australia are Adelaide, Geelong and Hobart in that order.

Cheers,

George Lombard

Thanks George.

I found Pakenham, outskirts of Melbounre, well connected by M train, is
under SIR as per post code. I am eying on that.

Roja,

This may be a good place to live but I'm not sure if you have taken
into account that you would need to work outside Melbourne too? This is
George's point - that you will be living somewhere with "rural
industries" only.

Hi, I am in SA on a SIR visa and as George stated your must live and work in areas that the state stipulates. In other words you can not live in a regional area and work in Melbourne.

If you live in Pakenham and able to find a job there itself then you
are not violating the conditions and in compliance with the terms and
clauses of SIR visa. Am I wrong?
