Default What is the standard vaccination procedure for children in Australia ?

I'm enquiring about vaccinations for my daughter and in particular
MMR.

What is the standard vaccination course in terms of age for MMR in
Australia ?

She has had the first dose of MMR just after 12 months as is standard.
Then she needs to have another jab after 4 years. She will be 3 years
and 9 months when we leave. The doctor is happy that she can get the
second dose a few months early, but asked that we check to see if
there are any differences in the combination given over in australia.
(e.e is the MMR combined with rabies or another vaccine ?)

We're emigrating from the UK in late March 2004.

I am not 100% sure, but I think the MMR is the same as here. The only difference might be that it is given slightly later, as school entry times are different there. My daughter is 4 and a half, I dont intend for her to have her second MMR until she is 5, by then we will be in Australia. I have been back and forth numerous times, all my children have had some immunisations in the UK, some Aus, and never had any problems with this. Be sure to keep your immunisation records for either country.
A good site to check is http://www.hic.gov.au/yourhealth/our_services/aacir.htm
