Default What is Priority Processing?

Hi everyone

I stumbled across this & wondered if anyone can tell me exactly what it means? I'm aware that a normal Visa Application timescale is about 9 months, so does this mean that under the MODL, the wait is reduced?

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...-in-demand.htm

Should I be getting excited, or does it mean something different? Have other people had their visas granted quickly because their jobs were on the MODL?

Many thanks

Applications for professions on the MODL are processed faster.

When we did ours I think the MODL ones were about 2 months faster than the non-MODL applications. The processing times vary though so who knows how much faster it will go, but basically the MODL applications do get processed faster.

I think that happened when the new online system came about in September. I believe the new applicants that were using the online system got processed right away by the people who had been trained to do it. Since it was brand new the DIMA people had no backlog once it started. So the first people who applied got processed pretty much right away.

Or, at least that's the way I read it on here. There was a bit of an uproar on BE because lots of people thought it was unfair that they had been waiting so long and the new ones jumped to the front of the line (rightly so I think). But the explanation makes sense about having specific staff to deal with the online application once it got up and running.

I wouldn't count on that happening again, I think things have levelled out and gotten back to normal. We got ours in Dec 2006 and we had waited for 7 months, we actually got it a bit earlier than most people too.
