Default What does a good Migration Agent cost ??

I have recently spoken with a migration agent about moving to OZ and we ultimately got onto the subject of fee's.

I appreciate that he will be working very hard for us and ultimately he may be the difference between us getting there and not, but i was just wondering if there is a going rate.

I will say, just to clarify, that i am over the moon with the service he has provided us so far, and he was a nice guy to boot.

Anyone have any experiences or empty pockets they can tell me about.

Cheers, Si

I remember a thread about 2 years ago asking the same question. It came
down to how much you were willing to pay, how good the service was and how
good you felt when using the agent.

If you pay $10,000 to an agent, does that mean you are going to get better
service than paying $5,000?

There are many stories in this newsgroup about people paying over the odds
and getting bad services. And other people paying a lot less getting better
service. It comes down to your choice.

When it comes down to it you have to feel good about the agent and happy to
pay there costs. If either of these do not match up then you will not be
happy.

I paid about $5000 (AU$ just agent costs for a skilled ind visa) for my
agent and was happy with there services. I think that many of the agents in
this newsgroup are cheaper and I would be happy to go with them.

If you are happy with your agent then stay if you can afford them. If not
find somebody in your price range that you are happy with. Remember this is
an investment on your life so you may want to put a higher figure on it

Good luck on your application

I agree with wargod. Although I am still to find out my fate from the ACS ( RPL ), I agree that my agents knowledge and support so far has proved invaluable, and there is no way I could have proceeded with the skills assessment without them!

Many good agents in Australia will charge in the region of AUD2000-AUD3500 to handle a skilled migration case. DIMIA and other fees additional. How much depends on the agent, case complexity etc.

Business skill migration is generally more expensive.

Yep, I paid £2200 for all agent fees and skilled assessment and application fee to DIMIA. Not bad value realy. So it worked out to be ~£1k for the Agent.
