Default What do you suggest regarding visas etc

Hello to all
This is my first post on this iste so bare with me.
Best advice for the following would be appreciated, My wifes Parents are currently living on a retiremtn visa in Aroona off Caoulndra on the Sunshine Coast, they have nearly been there now for 4 years and we have visited them twice now and have decided to try and move over to be closer to them as this is the only family my wife realistically has left.
I am currently employed as a Hygiene manager in a large poultry buisness and my wife works within a School as the Lunchtime Manger working with the kids.
I am 36 years of age and am aware that the older you are the harder it is to gain a visa.
I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on what best to do basically.
Are my wifes parents allowed to sponsor us, is it best for my wife to apply, is age going to effect it.
That sort of thing
Much appreciate anyones time they have sent on this and Thankyou in advance.

Not an expert but isn't the retirement visa a temporary one. I think they would have to be permanent residents or citizens to sponsor you.

Check on www.immi.gov.au for info on all visas.

Thanks, I was aware that the retirement was temporary but I was under the impression that after 4 years they could apply for residency.
Thanks for response though.

As far as I know, if they are on the old (I think 410) retirement visa, then unless things have changed, this is renewable every 4 years, and you can't apply for PR.
