The bond option was withdrawn on 1 September, so if you are short of points you will need to either find a sponsor or sit the IELTS. Bear in mind that it is by no means a walk in the park.

Get yourself sponsored - each state has a list of occupations that they will sponsor. You have to apply for it and may be turned down but if you want to go badly enough...you also have to spend 2 yrs in the state when you finally move...

Re: We are short of 5 points
We were 5 points short before Sept 1st (had 115 points), but didn't want to invest the $100,000 to gain the 5 points.
So my hubby sat and passed the IELTS test in July and we waited for the changes to come into effect on Sept 1st, and even though we were then 10 points short with the new changes (110 points), by passing the IELTS we gained the points back and had exactly 120 points
You now can't invest to gain points since the Sept 1st changes came into effect,
Good luck,

Sit the test...
Just make sure you get practice papers etc.
And you can re-sit the test if you fail. has to be the best option in my opinion!
