Would we be granted a resident return visa on the grounds that we returned to the UK for my husband to continue his study and gain his Bachelor of Engineering First Class Hons Degree, to enable him to maybe find it easer to gain employment in Australia.

We first went to oz on the 1st January 2006 and stayed for about 7 weeks.

He finished his course in July but he doesnt have his Graduation ceremony until Jan 2011. Our visa's expire on the 22nd Aug 2010.


Any advice would be helpful thanks.

Umm, if your dates are correct you only have 10 days to sort this out.

I would contact a migration agent ASAP - George Lombard or Alan Collett come highly recommended.

From what I've read, education doesn't seem to be a compelling reason for not moving to Australia in the 5 year period they allow.
