Default Visa Query

Can anyone pase give us a bit of advice... We were planning on going to Oz on a 175 perm visa, my OH is doing the Vetassess in July. But we are now thinking we might go over on a 475 state spon as it gets processed quicker. And apply for a perm visa once we are over there. Does anyone know if this is possible? Or would you advise waiting it out for a 175??

Thanks

Kelly

If your eligible for a perm visa why would want a restricted visa (state sponsored) and to pay 2 lots of visa fees ?

Really is a matter of a few more weeks is all.

Hi, We are eligible for a perm visa as OH is a plumber, hes doin the test on 15th July. It seems that the 475 visa is getting granted in about 6 months and the 175 can take anything up to 12.. I understand it will cost more, but we are that sick of our family over here that we want to get away. What are the benefits of a perm visa? rather than a 475? We have 2 children and are planning another.

Pleae help.

There are many disadvantages of being temporary resident, most of them obvious (healthcare costs, education costs, residence restrictions, real estate restrictions, access to benefits, access to citizenship etc).
