Default Visa Grant Observation

There seem to be rashes of visa grants and then everything goes quiet for a few days until the next. Has anyone else noticed this behaviour?

All I've noticed is that I was being really philosophical about the random order to assigning case officers, but now I'm seeing Feb HR applicants in the same occupation as me getting their COs and I'm starting to feel the unfairness!

I have no reason to believe that DIAC is biased. CO allocation probably depends on a lot of parameters.

I think it's more that HR country applicants are by rights, meant to take longer than LR country applicants to process, because of additional checks etc. Thus the term HIGH RISK.... Correct me if I'm wrong....

You are 100% correct.

But isnt it possible that a straightforward simple application from a high risk country is easier to process than a complex application from a low risk country?

Possibly, but we don't know if the above poster has a 'complex application', do we?

I was being totally fine and understanding about the way they process things, different teams for each country or occupation etc. I still am fine with it, there's not a lot you can do about it. But our application is not complex at all myself, my husband and two kids, no previous marriages/ stepchildren/ nothing at all interesting in our past. Don't really see how our application could be any simpler!

I'm sure we'll hear something soon, I was just sharing my newly found impatience with you all.

LOL It's ok, we understand....I often wonder if they could have a 'faster processing' option for people entering Oz as a 'single applicant' as opposed to having a family....I'd be 'cheaper to keep' etc Would I not? HAHA I dread to think what response I'll get to this....eeek! lol

You'll be there soon enough Jen. I wish you'd be there in time to teach my little monkey (although we're off to Sydney). He's due to start school in September, but we're hoping to be in Oz ready for the January start instead.

The thread is moving into how long is a piece of thread territory . My opinion is each case is unique. Further, it is the luck of the draw whether you get an efficient CO or not. I'm from a HR country and many of my fellow countrymen have received visas within 3 -5 months from application on par with LR countries. So the above statement which is repeated so often is not 100% correct. Moral of the story the only timeline that matters is your own!

That said back to the original topic. It does seem visa grants are not distributed evenly throughout the week. Wednesday to friday looks like good days to check e-mail in boxes!
