I applied for Australia 457 visa 3rd march. I attached all the relavent
document , and medical report. Since i havent heard anything from them
for more than 2 months , i rang up my case manager. He said they were
not unable to call my previous employer to verify my experience , as
the number is enganged ( i havent specified the number i donno where
they got the number ) and no response [Actually there number is changed
and not updated in the website :( ]

He told me to contact Australian Computer Society (ACS) , and undergo
the skill assessment test. It cost 350Aus $ , but the worry is they say
it will take 8 to 10 weeks , which iam worried a lot , Acutally i have
to get it ASAP.

I have been sponsered by reputed Software Firm in India , having
branches all over the world including melbourne.

I sent all the relavent docs again to ACS , and courier says it reach
them today (though iam waiting for their acknowledgement) ,

Is this the general procedure ,
Any idea how long ACS will take to do my skill assessment test ,
will they keep in touch with me in case of any clarification ?
Is this much delay is normal or its specific to my case :( ?
most importantly..
Is there anythign can be done to speed up the process ?

From what I can see the hold up is because they can't contact your employers. It does state that all references need to have contact details of the person named in them.

But some of the visa applicant in my company got email from immigration
asking for employee referral, but i havent got such email.
Ok. now i had sent the reference few weeks back but then also case
manager advised to contact ACS, there i sent all the docs (including
employee referral)
My courier reached them last week, generally how long it takes
What i understad from this group is skill assesment is generally for PR
, but for me its only 457 visa, will this help me in processing faster
from ACS.. becos client wants me to work there ASAP ?
