Re: visa 457 validity if PR was issued
Hi Klaus,
This is a technical question relating to whether a visa ceases in such
circumstances. I think it is an open question, but the short answer is that
in view of the new 8107 condition I think it is risky not to obtain a new
visa.
One client of ours from an ETA country who left Australia because her
sponsor withdrew sponsorship has recently found that she could not get an
ETA because the previous 457 had not in fact been cancelled. Your ex-wife
may therefore find she needs to apply for a new visa through the nearest
Australian Embassy or High Commission.
Best regards

visa 457 validity if PR was issued
I got a question to the community,
The facts:
I had a 457 VISA with my family.
We separated and divorced here. (thats life)
I applied for myself and my daughter for PR and got it some month ago.
My ex wife left australia back to her homecountry she was not included in
the PR application.
Now she wishes to visit her daugther, she still has the 457 which is valid
for another 2 years, but I was the reason we got it (Main applicant).
The Question:
Will she still be able to enter australia with this visa, is it still valid
for her or might she encounter problems at immigration?
Thanks for the advise
