Talking Visa 190

Hay guys, wana ask this question for a buddy, Does the Job Category "ICT Systems Test Engineer" can apply 190 permanent visa type. Please suggest. Thanking all in advance.

If you apply for a General Skilled Migration visa on or after 1 July 2012 and you are nominated by a State or Territory Government, a direct entry stream Employer Nomination Scheme visa, a Subclass 457 (Business (Long Stay)) visa or a Subclass 442 (Occupational Trainee) visa you must nominate an occupation from either Schedule 1- Skilled Occupation List or Schedule 2 -
Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List.

Yes, 'ICT Systems Test Engineer - 263213' is on schedule 2 so is eligible for a 190 PR visa. However, he will need to check the state migration plan of the state he is interested in to see if that occupation is on the list. If it is on the list then he can then apply for state nomination from there. Hope that helps.

I guess the next hurdle is whether it is on a state's SMP or not. Having a quick search at WA, NSW and QLD it doesn't appear to be on any of their lists, not sure what happens then unfortunately...

ETA: South Australia is showing High Availability in their SMP listing for this occupation
