As I understand, that's the long and the short of it, yep!

Not very exciting, no welcoming committee! I believe you get a 'Welcome to Australia Mate' from the immigration officer though!

Yup. You fly over, rock up through customs, get the stamp, no fanfair, no bells whistles, flags flying. You can then turn round (well go off the departures really) and fly back on the same plane. You all need to do it but the main visa holder has to go through first and you don't need to go back if you don't have to.

Hi mate,

Just did it this week with just a few days to spare, at Brisbane International.

As you said, no drama, just present your passport and get an entry stamp.

They asked me for an address where I was staying and a contact number.

Not sure what you'd do if you were just booking into a hotel at random when you get there ??

Hope this helps,

Alan

Thanks for the advice. Not sure about giving them an address though. Cant sell my house so having to go for a short holiday. Which considering me being such a wimp about flying is not good news...!

Just tell them that but make sure you have adequate funds for your stay otherwise they will ask questions.
