Default Validating our visas

Hi Everyone,

We have now had our 457 accepted and they have asked me to go to Australia house to get them validated.

My question is, i have contacted them and they are only open between 9 and 11am monday to friday, so what are the queues going to be like and how long is it going to take and do we all have to go or can i go with my families passports and do them all.

Any comments would be greatly received.

Cheers Nick

Do you mean, to have your visas added to your passports? We posted ours recorded delivery. Your visas are then validated when you enter Australia. liz

sorry to side step the main question , but i have a mate who has got a 457 visa and is also sponsered by a company in perth , they are under the impression that they have up to 4 years to enter oz for the first time , is this to be true or are they getting mixed up, cheers.

It's true in the sense that the visa is valid for 4 years so you can enter anytime in that period (although it is also invalid after 4 years) - however, a 457 is a company sponsored visa, so I would imagine it is extremely unlikely that anyone is willing to hold a job open for 4 years!

From previous experience you need to get there early and queue. When you go in at 9, you take a ticket and then wait. You may either be first in and so first out or you may be 10th in and have to wait ages because those in front have complicated applications for other stuff.
