US FBI Police Check
We got these back in about 4 weeks, but it is just a stamp (No Arrest
Record) on the back of our fingerprint cards! Do you suppose we send
off the cards? I kind of wanted to send copies in case they are lost,
but it seems that we will have to send the originals. Anyone else
send these off?
Thanks!
Lisa

Make sure you send the originals, because that's what DIMIA specifically asks for. Or else, you'll delay your case, and will receive a request for the originals.
Make copies of both the front and back sides, for your records.
Good luck!

Hi,

You can get them either at the Local Police Station, or from the FBI.
If you're getting the fingerprint forms from the FBI, it'll be faster if you call them instead of writing to them, as they'll mail them right away for you.
Here is more info I posted earlier:
You can call the following number at the FBI - CJIS Division, Special Correspondence Unit (SCU):
(304) 625-3878
They are the ones who perform and issue the background checks.
Once you call that number, press Option 3, and you'll get a LIVE person to talk to. Explain your particular situation, and they'll tell you what to do.
Their address is:
The Federal Bureau of Investigation
Criminal Justice Information Services Division
Attention: Record Request
SCU MOD D2
1000 Custer Hollow Road
Clarksburg, West Virginia 26306
The following links will give you more instructions:

Good luck!

Do a Google search for your local FBI office. We had our fingerprint cards
in 2 business days, directly from the Denver FBI office.

But I ended up not needing them, since my Local Police Station already had the fingerprint cards.
The FBI prefers the FD-258 fingerprint cards. But my Local Police Station did not have the FD-258 fingerprint cards, so I called the FBI office to find out if they'll do. They said that was fine. In fact any fingerprint card used by the Local Police Stations is fine, as long as they follow the FBI fingerprinting guidelines, which they have to follow by law, anyway. At least that's what I was told.
