Default Urgent Please :Intimation to immigration authority Australia?

Hi,
I have applied for immigration to Australia in Oct 2003. I am moving now to Australia through an intra company transfer so I will be applying for a visa for the same.

1) I wanted to confirm whether I need to inform immigration Authority regarding this or can I just go ahead and apply for the visa and work there without any intimation to the immigration department of my presence in Aus and the current status.

2) I have also recently got married. Do i need to inform of the marital status change?

Thanks in advance.

Hi YI,

Of course you should advise the relevant area of the Department dealing with
your PR application of your current temporary visa application. You should
also tell both areas of the Department about your marriage, and seek to
include your wife in both applications.

If your sponsor is engaging a migration agent they will be able to deal with
this for you.

cheers

Thanks George,

The reason I was asking was that I assumed since DIMIA will be having my records for PR application in the same database so in any case when they are processing my work visa application they will know that I have also applied for PR and visa versa. Is it mandatory on my part to inform? That might slow down the processing of the PR application and the temporary visa application?

My wife is a NZ citizen so I guess I do not need to include her name in the application for PR or work visa. Do i still need to inform the DIMIA?

Thanks a ton.

Hi George
Quite ... in the light of the 2001 changes it's not a question of a
'better category' of PR, but rather PR in the first place as NZ citizens
no longer get this automatically.

Original poster should check http://www.nz-oz.gov.au and then include
his wife on his PR visa application asap.

Hi YI,

It will slow down your application considerably if you don't inform Adelaide
of the TR application and vice versa.

Also, including your wife will give her a better category of PR than she can
have if just temporarily resident in Australia. Jeremy has lots to say
about this.

cheers

I have also applied for 136 with my defacto spouse. my company is considering offering me an intra company transfer like yourselves. How are you getting on with transfer/application? what has happened to your visa process now? Is it an ENS visa category now? Please advise as this would greatly help my situaution! thanks.
