Hi Umer

I know this can be difficult at times. You may actually need to send your paperwork
(DIMIA letter and other documents) to a parent, sibling or other relative who can go
personally and have it sorted out at the university.

Best Wishes.

Hi Umer
I think you do not need to get the attestation from your university.
Immigration booklet 1119of DIMIA states the following;
Do not supply original documents with your application. If DIMIA require original document at any stage,we will ask for it.
You should provide certified copies of original documents. This means a copy which is authorised as a true copy by a person before whom a Statutory Declaration may be made.Such authorised persons include the following:magistrate,Justice of the Peace,Commissioner for Declarations,Commissioner for Affidavits,a person before whom a Statutory Declarations may be made under the law of the state in which a declaration is made,a solicitor, registered medical practitioner, bank manager,Australian Postal corporation officer with five years experience.
So the bottomline is that you can get your documents attested from anybody in UAE who is authorised to do so.
Hope this is of help.

Hello

You're right about what the book says. But...

Umer has written about what happens after the applications have been lodged.

Applicants with qualifications from the Indian sub-continent and certain other places
now receive letters from DIMIA requesting that the applicants obtain attestations
from the universities and institutions of higher learning attended, AND have the same
universities and institutions send those documents DIRECT TO DIMIA.

Just a little inconvenient and time-consuming if the applicant has been honest. Very
inconvenient if he/she has never attended the institution or never achieved the
grades shown in the original certified copies sent to DIMIA!

Hi, I received my ACS assessment stating that I have major in computing. Thanks for
the advise Basanti Bahadur but I think Mr.Uppal is right too.

You see the university has a procedure of attesting documents, but then getting them
to send it to DIMA is unchartered territory, my doubts are should we ask the
university to first attest the docs then put them in a envelope and stamp across the
cover too to prove that the documents have indeed been put inside by the university.
Till this part it looks possible, but then why would the university post it to
anyone, I think the possible alternative is to post the sealed and stamped envelope
ourselves to DIMA. This should be satisfactory to DIMA I suppose. Thanks Umer

Hello Umer and uppal

I had send all the documents to my parents and told them to contact the university. I
am also from Madras University. But i do no whether University of Madras will send my
documents directly to Adelaide. I have to wait and see how the university reacts. They
will attest my copies but i do no whether they will send my documents directly to the
Adelaide office. That is the problem for me now.Anyway i have to wait and see no other
way.I can try my level best
