Does anyone have any ideas how long UK Police Clearances generally take to come through? Also does the fact that I am a South African living in the UK have any impact on the length it takes to be processed?

The fact that you're a South African living in the UK will not impact the length of time it takes. My partner (British) & I (American) sent ours off on the same day (sent separately) & received our results on the same day as well.

Ours took about 2 week, in the West Midlands. Under the Data Protection Act, they MUST provide the results within 40 days...

They have to reply within 40 days, under the Data Protection Act - time taken varies according to how quick the local force forwards the check to New Scotland Yard, and on what the workload is at NSY at the time. hence it can vary, depending on the time of year.

19 days so far...... in suffolk....

Had conf of reciept and docs returned...Appl at scotland yard now..

Nothing else yet, but they say 40 days...

You will probably have to get police clearances from South Africa.
That would probably take awhile!!

I have already applied for the SA one and expect that to take a while - I was just wondering about the UK one.
