Hi there,

We have got a positive result from the TRA and are now getting the mountain of
paperwork ready for the DIMA. One question that I cannot find an answer to concerns
my passport. It is only valid until Feb next year, should I apply with my current
p/port to get into the queue and hope it doesn't take too long, or, should I wait and
get a new passport now. We will be applying through Berlin.

Your visa validity won't depend on your passport validity. Apply for your visa
whenever you're ready, and if you get a new passport in the meantime, just write to
your case officer and tell him the details. If you get to the stage of having a visa
in an expired passport, you will just need to carry both old and new passports when
entering Australia, or have your visa re-evidenced.
