Hi Jezzy,
I don't know off hand but if you go to
http://www.aaguides.co.nz/accom/green.html under Amenities you can click on
pets by arrangement. It should help or at least give you an idea.
Maybe someone else can answer who has a dog?!! )

Re: Travelling NZ with our dog
Hi,
we have a well travelled dog that came to NZ with us. Quite a few
campgrounds allow dogs, although they can be more fussy around Xmas time,
which is their peak period. Some motels do allow dogs, some listed in the
AA guide and other similar guides (worth checking out more than one guide).
As our dog is diabetic and requires insulin injections twice daily and set
feeding times, using kennels along the way isn't an easy option, but can
work if your dog doesn't mind it too much. Where are you planning on
visiting? Remember dogs are allowed in Regional Parks, but not the National
Parks.

Re: Travelling NZ with our dog
Thanks For replying.
We plan to travel the whole of NZ taking in as much as we can for about 6 weeks before we settle in Tauranga. Obviously we will have to think a little harder about the national parks. Can they go through in a car or do they have checkpoints at the park entry?
We will have to try and find kennels as close to the parks as possible for the odd night maybe.
Cheers
Pete
