Just some advice needed really. My current occupation is now on the new SOL schedule 2 - Optical Dispenser 399913 and I am hoping to get assessed by the TRA. (Not sure why them and not VETASSESS as it's not really a trade as such)

The issue I have is I have been employed in this occupation for 17 Years but never had a formal apprenticeship. Although I do have an NVQ III in management which I completed last year after becoming assistant manager. I am also studying now towards a University certificate in Optical Dispensing (equivalent of an AQF Diploma). The advice I have received so far is that as TRA are the assessor they want to see these qualifications in the first five years of your employment.

Does anyone have any experience of qualifications achieved later in your career as being recognised / accepted?
