Default Tourist Visa along with PR File

Hi All

One of my friend has applied for

1:PR - In process , CO is not assigned yet
2:Tourist - Just granted day before.

My question is should he travel with

1: One way ticket or
2: Return ticket

What will be impact if he travels with One way ticket?

I would advise anyone travelling on a tourist visa to have a return ticket. If your friend is from a HR country, I would doubly recommend it.

Thanks for quick reply. He is from HR country. There are very high chances that his PR will be approved by June 2014.

So current plan is to travel on one way ticket by Jan end. Stay here till April and make a return (open) ticket.

This way he can save good amout of money.

Only concern is what if immigration stops him from entering Aus when he will have only one way ticket.

This way he can save good amout of money. How? That sounds like an excellent way to spend money. In that he will be living for six months in a very expensive country and unable to work.

They are expected ot leave at the end of the holiday. This plan would be a risk for anyone but it is particularly problematic for someone from a HR country. I would be surprised if he got on a plane. .

His wife is in Aus on PR basis. They are already living in diff. countries due to visa. Thats the reason, he wants to travel ASAP.

I honestly don't think this changes anything that I have already said. Tourist visas are for tourists and your friend will experience more scrutiny as HR applicant and a one way ticket just makes that a whole lot worse. He would not be able to work whilst he waits. Why was he not on his wifes application anyway?

Even more risky with a one way ticket then....
