Is there some point during the application process where you can relax
a bit, and be realistically optimistic, and perhaps start planning and
say that the chances are better than 50% (or 60% or 70%) that you will
get your visa?
For example, I understand that it's rare for anyone to be rejected
after DIMIA asks for the $100K investment bond. So I guess once they
ask for that, you can be pretty optimistic that pretty much all that
possible reasons for rejection have been assessed and all will be well.
How about for those who will not be lodging that bond investment? Is
there some such point?

Francis,
I am with you on that one. I am hoping that when they ask my sister who is the assurer to go into CentreLink I can relax.
A bit anyway lol.
I hope so good luck to you

But what if there are no available flights until your validation date?
:-) :-)
But seriously, I just want to be able to relax after more than 3 years
of preparation (including acquiring further edu credentials). Some of
us should get a visa and a loyalty medal!

I am the same about the preparation bit. I went to get a degree to apply for my 139 visa and in the end found out I didn't need it. I just needed a bog standard Btec Certificate lol.
I could have gone years ago if I had known that.
If the plane goes without me, I'll catch the next one lol

We were told on the 15th November that we are 5 points short and one of the 3 options was Capital investment $100000...we went for this option and told by our CO that they will contact us in "Due Course"
How long that will be I dont know...So I'm really hoping that now they have asked and as long as we pay the bond all will be ok
