Are there "left luggage facilities" in Dubai Airport?
Can anyone advise?
Having a stop over in Dubai, on the way to Perth. 4 cases all around the 40kilo weight. We'd rather just take the one for the holiday onto the hotel and leave the rest to be collected again when moving on.
Web site for the airport does not mention this facility, has anyone been through Dubai and left luggage?
Any advice welcome!
That's not an invite for the sarcastic among you!
Thanks
Margie

Margie,
Just a heads up that all carriers today have a policy that no single
item of luggage may weigh more than 32 Kgs or they will refuse to take
it. So a luggage allowance of any more than 32 kg must be 2 items.
Its all to do with health and safety for baggage handlers so the won't
accept a fee they would insist on another suitcase repacked on the spot,
then they would charge you for too many items of baggage!!!

Yep,
I recently saw a family have to purchase bags and repack before their
luggage was accepted for a domestic flight.

Hiya Margie
Suggest you send the luggage as air freight, unless you have free baggage allowance. Every kg above your allowance will normally be charged at 1% of 1st class ticket. Air freight should be very cheap compared and by having it going straight to Oz (check with the airlines freight dept). You may have to deliver it and pick it up from the freight area of the corresponding airport.
Cheers

Hi Margie
How long do you stay in Dubai?
We once had a 3 night stopover in Singapore and the airline company offered us to check some pieces of luggage right through to Perth so we didn't have to bother with them in Singapore.
