To be honest, they are as concerned as some on here as it will obviously have an impact on business and makes it very difficult for them give give good guidance when everything seems to be up in the air.

No, just that there have been a lot of sudden changes so they don't know what to expect. Lets hope it's there's positive news in the world economy sooner rather than later.

Grrrrr, it's still not here! We're getting impatient now - even though I know we'll be waiting ages for the actual visa. But just want to get the application submitted and get in 'the queue'.

Tomorrow will be 7 weeks since acknowledgement. HURRY UP TEACHING AUSTRALIA!!! :curse:

That does seem quite a long wait, but be patient, they've maybe just got a lot of people to get through! Fingers crossed it'll be very very soon!

FINALLY got my Skills Assessment back yesterday. It took TA 10 weeks and a day since date of ackowledgment - so much for the 6-8 weeks timeframe? And I did my training in Queensland so it can't have been that difficult to assess my skills as equivalent to Australian!

Anyway, can finally submit now. Ready for a considerably longer wait...

Congrats on getting your skills assessment back. Are you primary or secondary?

Hello everybody!
I am looking for some help - has anyone applied for SA sponsorship? If yes, which sources of job search have you mentioned? I have found an official web-site www.jobsearch.gov.au, Smart Teachers. Are there any other possibilities?
I feel that my search within SST field doesn't look convincing - I am currently working as a freelance translator so for me it is easier to prove that I will start my own business, and I am also looking for University positions (I have got a PhD), but I am going to apply as a secondary school teacher so I feel I will need some more links.
Any help would be really appreciated.
PS I am trained to teach in LOTE which makes the whole process even more complicated.
