For SA it's $25k for the main applicant and $5k for each additional applicant. At least $10k of that amount must be liquidated.

You should probably aim for a similar amount for States/Territories that don't publish exact required amounts.

Hi Roxanne,

WA doesn't use a simple formula like SA; instead they expect you to perform a calculation, as per the following questions in their online application form:

Provide an estimate of the funds you will bring to WA ($AUD):*

Where will these funds come from?:*

Estimate the cost of your relocation to WA ($AUD):*

Provide details of how you researched the cost of living in WA:*

Estimate the cost of living in WA, provide details.:*

Do you believe that you are able to sustain yourself (including dependents) adequately if your application is successful?:

And for the best advice available on living costs in Australia, try our list of sources at http://austimmigration.com.au/site/?q=node/12 .

Cheers,

George Lombard
