Hi!

I want to undertake training in New Zealand or Australia,(I haven't decided yet), in order
to become a secondary school teacher next year. By studying in either country I will move
above the necessary points level, on the skills category, for permanent entry to either
Austalia or New Zealand. If I don't study in New Zealandor Australia it could hold up my
application for years as I would need to build up experiance points. I would get points
for New Zealand or Australian study and so would not need the experiance. Is that correct?

If I wanted to, on completion of my course, would I legally then be able to apply for
permanent residence to either New Zealand or Australia from within the countries. I am
under the impression that this is not too much of a difficulty in New Zealand. How about
in Australia? I have no close family ties or anything else in Australia. Would it be
possible to somehow apply for a change of status legally and stay in Australia? I think it
would be very hard to apply for a temporary working permit for a new teacher, while the
permanent visa application is being dealt with. What are your views on this?

I am about to apply for courses, and I desperately need to know this information. I would
appreciate any help anyone can assist with this.

Many thanks.
