Hello Everyone,
I secure 65 based on my age, qualifications and education for class 189. I have more then 10 years of software developer & lead experience across 4 companies. My previous companies are major consultancies who work for many client and not prepared to give details about duties and responsibilities. I am kind of stuck here, so if someone faced this issue and found a workaround, please share.
Worst bit, I don't have contact with my first two companies only offer letters. Could someone please suggest how can I negotiate with these situations.
regards,
Sandy

Morning Sandy,
I think we are probably in a similar situation. I got the same 189 based on all the point as yours.
What i did was get someone I knew from my previous company to write a statutory declaration stating my duties and responsibilities. I also supported it with few old documents such as , payslip, or any official correspondence from my old company.
Trust me the outcome was awesome. I was surprised ACS didn't even deduct the 2 years deemed fit. They just counted my years of experience from the date i graduated from University first degree.
Hope you find this helpful.
Regards
James

Many thanks for your reply James.
I guess it need to go down statutory declaration route. Do you mind telling how that statutory document was drawn, I mean through solicitor or notary public. I am sorry if these are basic questions but I am new to all these.

Sandy

Hi Sandy,
I remembered he did it with the commissioner of oath at the court, he basically stated his name, current position and the position he was when he knew me as well as our relationship which obviously Line manager to staff.
He later states my roles and responsibilities, and the employment year period.
Everything was done on a paper and was signed off by commissioner of oath.
He further sent me the original copy which i took to my lawyer in London to notarize. I then scan it with other documents to ACS. and it was accepted and my result was positive.
Regards.

Quick update - We have submitted the application for ACS assessment today. I have managed to get all employment reference letters on company letter head including all roles and responsibilities. Found one solicitor who attested the documents for £5 each. IELTS sorted as well. Now long wait for around 12 weeks now before I can submit EOI.
Is there anything else I can do in these three months in advance preparation for visa application ?
I am on maternity at the moment and planing to stay on it for next 3 months. Will this cause any problem if so then I can cut it sort and go back to job . please advice.
regards,
Sandy

Maternity leave wont have any effect on your application so don't worry about that.
Once you have a successful skills assessment you will be able to lodge your EOI. You could use your time to have a look at what documents need to be uploaded if you receive an invite, and reading through the process so you know what to expect. Other than that it really is just a waiting game
