Thumbs up SA is accepting applications now- SA SS started!

New State Sponsorship Applications
Immigration South Australia is pleased to advise that we will be accepting new applications for sponsorships for skilled migrants who wish to live and work in South Australia.

While we await the finalisation and implementation of the State Migration Plan and the State Sponsored Migration List (SSML), the on-line application form is re-instated to offer sponsorships for a limited number of occupations that have been identified as priority skills for our State.

If your occupation is not on this pdf small icon Interim List it means that:

* it is not on DIAC’s Skilled Occupations List, Schedule 3 OR
* it has not been identified as a priority occupation for this state and will not be considered for sponsorship.

When the SSML is released and your occupation is on the list and you meet all the requirements and you wish to live and work in South Australia, you can apply for sponsorship.
As this is an interim measure, it is acknowledged that the criteria may not provide a pathway for all skilled migrants such as international students. However, consideration is being given to addressing these gaps when the full SSML is released.

If you have already submitted a ‘complete’ application to Immigration SA AND your occupation is included in this Interim List, your application will be processed accordingly. You do not need to send a new application at this stage.

We thank you for your patience and look forward to welcoming you to South Australia.

Applicants must ultimately meet all Commonwealth Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) requirements to be granted the appropriate visa:

* Offshore - Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) Visa (subclass 176)
* Onshore – Skilled – Sponsored (Residence) visa (subclass 886)

Cool Skilled Migration Western Australia

Below is the information that has caused a stink with my previous thread.WA new applications for state sponsorship if you want SS. READ.

To all the ones who acccused me of being wrong, confused etc. read it and read it properly.

State Migration Plan
The Government of Western Australia’s State Migration Plan (SMP) is with the
Minister for Immigration and Citizenship for the final sign off. The SMP will
introduce the Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupations List
(WASMOL).
Keep checking our website for news about the release of the SMP.
Website and Online Applications

The SMWA website and online application system have been under
construction for the past six months. SMWA are looking to re-launch its
enhanced website in late October, which will include up to date information
about living and working in Western Australia and new video footage of the
State.
SMWA has rebuilt its online application system for state sponsorship to be
more efficient and user friendly and will re-open when the SMP has been
signed off by the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship.

**Note: SMWA will release details of the state sponsorship criteria on the
website one week prior to the opening of the application system.
Please continue to check the website for updates.

NEW requirements for State sponsorship applications
DIAC regulations do not require applicants who hold a current passport from
the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand or the Republic of Ireland, to provide an
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) result when lodging
their skilled visa application with DIAC.

However, to be eligible to apply for state sponsorship all applicants will now need to provide an IELTS result.

It may be
beneficial for you to book your IELTS test now see – www.ielts.org
To see what your required score is across the four bands of reading, writing listening and speaking please continue to
check the website for the release of all sponsorship criteria.

Off-list nominations
If your occupation is not listed on the WASMOL but appears on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) - Schedule 4
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule4.pdf SMWA may be able to consider your application for an Off-List
nomination for the Skilled Sponsored Visa (SSV).
More details regarding Off-List nominations and eligibility criteria will be available on the SMWA website when the SMP
has been signed off.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Default Re: Skilled Migration Western Australia

First they mention native English speaks do not require proof of English, then they say all. This email is very contradicting.

There needs to be clarification on this, I have interrupted this as being Native speaks not requiring showing proof, and all other are require. While on the hand you could interrupt this as being something else due to the next sense referring to all applications.

The message does not drill down into the individual occupations English requirements and you cannot say if they are rising of the individual occupations.

Default Victoria's State Migration Plan released today 1 Nov 2010

Hi all,

Victoria released their SMP today (1 Nov 2010) which would be of interest to some of you here.

Some MODL/CSL IT occupations/specialisations have been preserved in the new SMP, so that would be good news for people holding 2231-79 MODL/CSL type assessment letters.

More here:
